another one bites the dust- queen!

This occurred to me tonight at my friends house...this something that i think they could've done alot with.

Phil could really rock the bass line..kidnof like "shakedown st" meets "the music never stopped".

and i'm sure we'd all love to hear bobby do his Freddie mercury impression. haha.

any one got other songs they'd like the dead to have covered?

Great first post pjcenedella, I hope you will continue to contribute!

I always thought the Grateful Dead should have covered the Partridge Family...

How about C' mon Get Happy-> Slipknot!-> I think I love You?

Jer would be perfect singing the first one!

They should have tried themes towards the end of a show - a nice slow Garcia number, say 'Bobby Goldsboro's Honey', followed by 'the Archies Sugar, Sugar', rounded off with a rockin' Sugar Magnolia. To send the audience home with a sweet taste in their mouths.

Well you know that , "I think I Love You", and "Sugar Sugar", are pretty well written pop confections , hell ,Wilson Picket covred Sugar Sugar . I see Bobby singing SS, done slow , might have worked, once you got your head aroud it ...
Now "Honey"... oh man ... Maybe Death Don't>Honey>Death Don't ...

LMAO!

How about "I'm a Little Bit Country, I'm a Little Bit Rock 'n Roll" (Donnie and Marie for you young uns)

Jer doing the country and Bobby the rock 'n roll? Not sure which would be more hysterical.

I always thought Dire Straits - sultans of swing fit right in with there catalog.

edit: you can't tell me you cant picture a sultans of swing > all along the watchtower or vice versa. I'd love to hear it now!

How about Pigpen doing "Whiskey River" by Willie? Don't know when that was written so it might not have been practical.

Drums -> Little Wing was tailor made for the boys. Oh what Jerry could have done with that one. Imagine the 15 minute jam with Bob's interplay, truely 12 chord stuff.

Great song. But, I also see it getting possibly butchered !
I wonder if you are thinking of the Hendrix original, or the Clapton take on it ?
